ELIOT CHAROF

Eliot Charof is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, director, and editor based in Venice, CA. A Gotham Alumn, Eliot has built a diverse career with work showcased at prestigious festivals, including the Tribeca Film Festival. He is a two-time recipient of the Vimeo Staff Pick, and his short film Pale (2015) won Best Short Film at the London Film Awards. His commercial work has been featured in major outlets like AdWeek, FastCompany, The FADER, Hypbeast, Indiewire, Noisey, Filmmaker Magazine, and Director’s Notes.

A graduate of SUNY Purchase in 2010, Eliot is also known for his films The Times (2017), which was an IFP Screen Forward Lab recipient, and its screenplay, selected for the IFP No Borders feature program. In 2023, he founded the Venice Beach Film Festival, aiming to cultivate an inclusive film community on the west side of Los Angeles while creating exhibition and networking opportunities for filmmakers. With his unique ability to blend emotional depth and visual innovation, Eliot has become one of the most exciting voices in the industry.
